User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; YComp 5.0.2.6; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
Build Identifier: Mozilla 1.6

I used to have Acrobat Reader 5 and Mozilla 1.6. Acrobat's search function
worked fine. After upgrading to Acrobat 6, the search function always return no
result when attempting to search on the pdf file opened within Mozilla.
However, if the same pdf file is first downloaded and opened using Acrobat, it
works fine. Opening the same file within IE works as well. This problem also
exists in two other machines that have Mozilla 1.75. Has anyone figured out a
fix?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Mozilla 1.6
2. Install Acrobat Reader 6
3. Open a PDF file that has already been OCR for text search. (Open the file
within Mozilla)
4. Click on "Search" button and type in any word that you know is in the file.
Actual Results:
It always reports that nothing is found.

Expected Results:
It should returns a list of all the occurrences of the word in the pdf file.

If your search function is already working, you may not be able to duplicate
the problem even though you follow the steps given here. This problem was
reported here before by differet users, but was closed as "WORKFORME". That is
not an acceptable solution. Please do not close this without a real solution.
Thank you.
Hey there Derek, First thing to ask is: What happens when you update all your
software? Newer versions of both mozilla *and* Adobe Reader are available.

Also, your steps to reproduce the problem includes a certain kind of PDF file
("a PDF file that has already been OCR for text search"). To help others help
you, you may want to attach a sample PDF file to this bug report.

Otherwise... worksforme.
WFM, I can't reproduce this bug with Mozilla 1.8b1 and Acrobat Reader 6, I
searched for 'seamonkey' in
http://swag.uwaterloo.ca/~j25wu/cs746/A1D/MozillaConceptualArchitecture-greatwall.pdf
and it found 3 occurences.
The build that this bug is reported on is very old and many changes have been
made since then. Please reopen if you can still reproduce the bug on a recent build.
