Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20050111
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20050111

On Mac OS X 10.3.7 w/Moz 1.8a6, when I edit any HTML document, when I single
click on an HTML tag in the body (eg. H1, H2, .., paragraph, address, etc), the
drop-down list in the Format toolbar does not update to say what the HTML tag
type is for the current cursor position.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open an HTML doc in Moz'a Composer
2.Create some <H1> text on line 1, then create some <H2> text on line 2, the
drop-down list in the Format toolbar will now say "Heading 2"
3.Single click in the middle of the <H1> text, the drop-down list in the Format
toolbar will remain unchanged (should say "Heading 1")
Actual Results:
The drop-down list in the Format toolbar will say "Heading 2"

Expected Results:
The drop-down list in the Format toolbar should have said "Heading 1"

This bug makes it somewhere more difficult to edit HTML since I know have to go
the "HTML Tags" view of the document to find what tag is actually there.
I see this bug also on Windows XP (Mozilla 1.8a6)
One more note, while in the HTML Composer there are indications at the bottom of
the screen of what HTML blocks/tags are currently in effect, the Email Compose
screen does not have this indication.

The lack of the HTML block/tag info for the Email Compose screen makes this bug
report more serious in that situation.
This problem recreates for me on Windows XP (5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600)
with Mozilla 1.8a6 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a6)
Gecko/20050111). I'm therefore changing the Op Sys and Platform for this bug to
"all"
OS: MacOS X → All
Hardware: Macintosh → All
The bug is still present in Mozilla 1.8b on Windows XP, affecting both the HTML
Composer and the E-Mail compose window in HTML mode.
Also seeing this on
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050731
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; rv:1.9b5pre) Gecko/2008032401 SeaMonkey/2.0a1pre
and Seamonkey 1.1.9rc
Can't reproduce works as expected.
