279480 - Lose mail icon on toolbar after restart

If you choose Toolbars --> Customize and drag the Mail icon to the toolbar, it
shows and is functional, but if you close Firefox, the Mail icon does not stick
and is no longer available in your Customize choices.
(Reloading defaults from the Window from the customize window will put the icon
back in the available choice, but it will not stick if moved to the Toolbar.)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right-click on Toolbar, choose Customize.
2. From Customize choice, select 'Mail' and drag icon to toolbar.
3. Icon appears on toolbar and is functional.
4. Close Firefox
5. Restart Firfox - Mail icon is not on the toolbar and not available from
"Customize" choices  --- Mail icon will not "stick" on toolbar.


Actual Results:  
I followed the steps above, then from the "Customize" window, I selected the
"Restore Default Set".  The Mail icon reappeared in the choices.  I repeated the
steps to add the icon to the toolbar, but when I closed and restarted Firefox,
the icon was again gone.

Expected Results:  
The Mail icon should have remained on the toolbar after exiting and restarting
Firefox.

I have the same problem here, since version 1.5 RC3 for Linux.

same happends here on firefox 1.5 default on hdd installed knoppix 4-1005

this is so frustrating! i have the same problem with 2.0. i use the new tab icon, the duplicate tab icon and the history icon, and when i restat firefox they all dissapear! AUUUGH! SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!

Too late to tell now about a 1.0 problem, but this was probably either bug 307558 or bug 319196 (piling on about 2.0 is certainly 319196, anyway).
