RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 273778

People

(Reporter: filipus, Assigned: mscott)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
Build Identifier: Thunderbird 1.0 build 20041226

After retrieving messages from pop3 server Thunderbird is applying user-defined
filters.
If the filter points to incorrect folder (moved, having wrong name) message is
lost. I haven't found it anywhere.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Expected Results:
TB should temporarily store message in Inbox folder and ask user to correct
destination folder or disable/delete incorrect filter definition
TB should check all destination folders when editing any folder definition.
DUP of Bug 273778 or Bug 275467 if your concern is "mail loss".
See Bug 275132 comment #7 for similar problems.

If your concern is "to disable filter when invalid folder in filter", this is
INVALID request because this is already finctioning.
If your concern is "to delete filter when invalid folder in filter", this is new
enhancement request.
If your concern is "to ask user to correct destination folder when invalid
folder in filter", this is probably new enhancement request.
(I prefer third one if enhancement will be implemented.)

By the way, please search bugzilla before bug open with at least Product=Core ||
Thunderbird (|| Mozilla App Suite is recomended too) for mailer or news reader
related problem, becuase many of compnents are shared by Thunderbird & Mozilla
mail&news and Product=Core is used for such shared components.
This applies to Mac Os X, too (Thunderbird version 1.0 (20041206)) and is pretty
annoying.
