This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

I have the newest version of Tiger, and Thunderbird Version 1.0.7 (20050923).

I have created two IMAP Accounts and one POP.

Sometimes, not always, Thunderbird won't quit without apparent reason.
The Thunderbird Window disappears, however, the program is still running (there is still the mark in the
dock).
Thunderbird can only be closed by force, pressing the apple, ctrl, esc!

Mostly all this happens if multiple programs are running in the background.

Open Account Settings .
goto 'Server settings' of IMAP account , uncheck 'Cleanup Inbox on Exit'.

Restart TB and check
I'm running ff 2.0.0.2 on gentoo and doing file quit does not work. The titlebar flashes and it just sits there.

The trick is that I have a second firefox window open on my third X desktop. In that instance of FF, it asks me whether or not i actually want to quit and close multiple tabs. The issue is obviously that I asked the instance of ff to quit on desktop 1 and not the instance on desktop 3.

Wayne, see comment 3 and 4. Fixed, or dependent on setting?

Unfortunately I don't have an IMAP account with which to test comment 4, but I certainly don't see this bug with POP. Given the severe age of this bug, and the lack of technical details I'd be tempted to resolve it regardless. If anyone can actually reproduce it using IMAP with Inbox cleanup active, a proper descriptive bug about that can be opened.

The only alternative is that it's a dupe of bug 353792 (can't quit due to having a huge number of mail folders), but there's not much use checking since the reporter of this one hasn't commented in over two and a half years.
