It'd be nice if Mozilla could sort the eMails by multiple criteria of different
priority, like - for instance - spreadsheet-applications can sort rows depending
on multiple columns' content.
For example, I'd like Mozilla to sort my emails by name (so the result are
contiguous blocks of mail from each person who wrote me in the main mail window)
and then by date (so the contiguous blocks of mail from each person are ordered
by date).
There ought to be a "advanced sort" dialog which performs the complex sort and
which lets you select multiple criteria and the order in which they should be
applied to the data.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to main mail window - sort by date
2. now sort by name
Actual Results:
The emails are sorted by name, but the blocks of emails from each person are not
sorted by date anymore.
Expected Results:
The blocks of emails from each person should still be sorted by date, so it'd be
possible to search for "emails from person X which arrived between date Y and Z"
efficiently without having to start the "search email-messages" dialogue.
Of course it's possible to use the message search to find messages, too, but
multiple sorting criteria for the main mail window would make searching less
often needed and is more "intuitive", too.
