I would find it very good if I could take some messages and drag them together
to a message thread, which can be viewed comfortably in the threadview.
Sometimes mailinglist threads get torn apart and thunderbird displays several
threads instead of one.

I'd like to second this request for enhancement.  I'd like to switch from mutt
to Thunderbird, but I would miss this feature (which is added to mutt using the
editing threads patch here: http://cedricduval.free.fr/mutt/patches/).

I personally am not so concerned about the drag-n-drop functionality; what I'd
really like is to be able to tag a message and then either link it into another
thread or break it out of the thread that it currently participates in.
