note: this may be a duplicate of one of the bugs at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=261196... filing as UNCO. on the above URL, clicking "Thread Index" makes that link move to the next line. This happens each time upon clicking it after the page is loaded. expected results: link doesn't move, link is followed. linux, gtk2, nightly build 2005012401
WFM with Mozilla 2005012506 on WinNT4.
works for me. biesi, are you still seeing it on trunk?
hm... still seeing this on checkout finish: Son Feb 6 20:09:28 CET 2005. do you want me to try a newer build?
no... looks like you'll have to fix it yourself :-)
hm. taking for now, maybe I will actually fix this...

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050409 Testcase WFM using Mozilla Trunk Nightly 2005040905 on Windows XP.
Testcase WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3 Testcase WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050429 Firefox/1.0+
testcase does NOT wfm: checkout finish: Fre Apr 29 15:32:26 CEST 2005 (and since it's most likely a trunk regression, testing on 1.7.x is not too useful)
Testcase still broken with Mozilla/5.0 (OS/2; U; Warp 4.5; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050726 SeaMonkey/1.0a At least superficially what happens is very similar to what is described in bug 269643, both testcases also use tables. If I don't confuse this with another dependency of bug 261196 it also seems similar to what happens when clicking long title links of posts in the heise.de forums, e.g. here http://www.heise.de/newsticker/foren/go.shtml?forum_id=82388&list=1&hs=0&e=all This would mean it's fairly high visibility and should be of higher severity.
I don't see any of these bugs on GTK2 trunk.
sure, though last time I tried I didn't get very far. I'll try again.
The patch of bug 269643 didn't help with this problem (neither the testcase nor the heise.de forum if that is really related), so it is really something different.

Attached file 2nd testcase
Second testcase added. The problem also occurs if the   is placed right after the link. In the wild you can spot this problem in the forums on heise.de (click on any link in the thread view): http://www.heise.de/newsticker/foren/go.shtml?read=1&msg_id=8986788&forum_id=85894&showthread=1
