RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 240778

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041123 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; SunOS sun4u; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041123 Firefox/1.0

Thunderbird should support SASL-GSSAPI authentication for various mail servers
as well as for SMTP authentication for outgoing mail.

Now that GSSAPI support is available for Mozilla and Firefox (negotiateauth)
extension, Single Sign-On should be extended to the mail client as well.

Solaris 10 now has a standard libsasl (based on Cyrus SASL implementation) and
most Linux distros support Cyrus SASL. Re-implementing SASL as part of the
mail client is the WRONG answer - use the implementation available on the platform.

bug 240778 ?
Indeed, this is a dup of 240778.

I didn't see that when I did my search for this feature because I searched for
SASL and SASL isn't included in the description of 240778. I am closing this as
a dup and have updated the record for 240778.
