RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 253341

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-gb) AppleWebKit/125.5.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/125.12
Build Identifier:

in OS X (btw, bugzilla will not let me enter this bug if i have OSX as the OS version), having Thunderbird
check for new mail every 10 mins or so in an IMAP account results in the dock icon *sometimes*
declaring 2 new mails. a check of my inboxes will reveal no new messages.

once this happens in a session, it will continue to do so every time TBird checks for new mail. it is very
annoying and i must quit and come back again.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. leave TBird running (even minimised)
2. wait for auto fetch to kick in... the bug happenning is sporadic
Actual Results:
2 new mails reported

Expected Results:
not reported any new mail (i didn't have any!)

i also have an RSS account (and local folders) and an empty (not subscribed to anything) news account.
but their fetch times do not coincide with the IMAP checking, so i reckon its just the IMAP account
causing this.
