the line from a blinking cursor is still drawn where the cursor used to be after a newline... this results in 
a very annoying distraction and horrible UI. i'm using OS X (bugzilla cries if i enter OS X as my OS)

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
this is hard to reproduce... it just happens sometimes when writing emails. i cannot find a set order of 
keys to type and get this to happen
Actual Results:  
cursor "left behind" where it used to be

Expected Results:  
no cursor left behind

Attachment: jpg shows cursor trail.

this happens in the plain text composer. to reproduce, simply reply to any
email, and scroll down until you get to the bottom edge of the composer window.
one line after that, the cursor starts leaving a trail behind.

the same bug was present in an earlier netscape version - was supposed to have
something to do with java. the bug was never fixed there (I think that rather
they stopped doing java things in the plain text composer).

it's also not present in thunderbird 1.0 for windows!
