I was wondering if it would be possible and useful to add a small enhancement to
the "back" and "forward" button (or keyboard equivalent) functionality. When I
browse some websites I sometimes get distracted and dig into a site other than
the one I was initially viewing. When I'm done or when I discover I am off
track, I mostly try to use the "back" button (or keyboard equivalent) to return
to where I was supposed to be.
Right now it is only possible to jump back and forward a page at a time. I would
like to see an option that enabled the use of these buttons/keys to jump a site
at a time.
For example, pressing the shift key and the back button does not take one back a
single page, but jumps back last page of a previously visited site. The same
could work for the forward button, only then jumping to the first page of the
next site found in the browsers history. The behavior could be based on the URL
of the visited sites (different domain, different site).

was WONTFIXed before in bug 182138
The suggested solution in the other report/request mentioned above, to use the
history, still requires mouse action. Although you can access the history list
with Control + H, I could not find a way to navigate the history entries using
only the keyboard.

tab+arrow keys work just fine here. So does search for that matter.
