I examine the Yahoo chess board with MSIE 6 SV1 and Mozilla 1.8b build 2005021205 and saw no differences (re font size). The Yahoo chess board is a window java applet. My JRE version is 1.5.0_01 under XP Pro SP2. Some part of the interface may be small and almost unreadable (e.g.: like in the java applet Game room window interface: "options: x minutes initial time. y second increment. rated|unrated.") but this is due to the java programmer (and his programming decisions) and there is no interface setting you can use in Mozilla or Firefox or MSIE 6 to increase the size of font; no java applet UI setting was defined like in this one: http://ww2.cs.fsu.edu/~steele/XHTML/appletObject.html where the applet has been programmed to allow the user to set size of text. Reducing scr. res. will increase the display of characters though. Resolving as INVALID

It seems we should complain Yahoo! But, if they have not considered browsers other than IE yet, I prefer not to waste my time to communicate such programmers (designers of the game). If you examine IE with its *own* java (before installing 1.5.x), you see that fonts are shown nice. Perhaps, Microsoft has defined a minimum font size for its java plugin. The problem is that Yahoo has never considered any other browsers with Sun's java. Can we contact sun for fixing this (e.g. by adding an option to set a minimum font size)? Thank you for your notice, Bahram Alinezhad, Rudehen, Tehran, Iran.

> It seems we should complain Yahoo! But, if they have not considered browsers > other than IE yet, They have. Many years ago. For Netscape 4. And more recently with NS 6+. I prefer not to waste my time to communicate such programmers > (designers of the game). Yahoo! portal services are serving a lot of people... Yesterday, over 200,000. You can not expect each request to be handled, to be replied personally, to be accepted, etc.. > If you examine IE with its *own* java (before installing 1.5.x), No I did not. you see that > fonts are shown nice. Then this is part of Yahoo! problem. Perhaps, Microsoft has defined a minimum font size for its > java plugin. No. In an applet, it's defined by java programming. The java plugin has nothing/should have nothing to do with this. > The problem is that Yahoo has never considered any other browsers > with Sun's java. I doubt that. Maybe they did not test exhaustively other browsers.

Surely they didn't.
