Details
(Keywords: crash, stackwanted)
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 From time to time Firefox will crash and the ./run-mozilla.sh: line 451: 11474 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"} message appears on the console. First I thought it could be caused by a certain website, but that is incorrect. It happens with any page, it appears to be at random, even with pages I had surfed before without problems (even surfed in the same session in which the crash occurs). The crash happens not very often (about once a day), so the browser it's quite usable, but it can be quite annoying and make you loose important data. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Use firefox for quite a long time. 2.Eventually it will crash. 3. Actual Results: It crashes after a long time. Expected Results: Be stable. ./run-mozilla.sh: line 451: 11474 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"}

Can you post Talkback ID for this crash "firefox/components/talkback/talkback" ? Or post a GDB stacktrace if you built Mozilla yourself ? What plug-ins do you have (about:plugins) ?
Keywords: crash,
stackwanted

There is no talkback on my system. I have the following plugins: Shockwave Flash 7.0 r25 File name: libflashplayer.so Default Plugin File name: libnullplugin.so I've had one more crash since I first posted the bug. apparently, while the "451" in ./run-mozilla.sh: line 451: 11474 Segmentation fault "$prog" ${1+"$@"} it's a constant, the other number seems to vary, since this time instead of 11474 it read 15194. Sorry but I have no idea about the stacktrace. I'm just a newbie.

can you run Firefox in GDB debugger ? Start Firefox with: ./firefox -g Once in GDB: GDB> run (type run) when FF crashes, you'll get back to GDB, type: GDB> bt (for backtrace) Attach the output in bugzilla.
I have the same crash. usually happen when you switch to firefox and back several times (alt-tab) I only see it happen in debian. I'll try to get a backtrace
