User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 The global Mac OS X standard short cut for switching between windows is Cmnd + ` as long as you use an english keyboard layout. But for German; Italian; Swedish, NOrwegian, Finlandish, Danish; Spanish, Katalan etc keyboards, the letter ` is inconvenent to use. Thus -- at least for the Norwegian localisaton of Mac OS X-- the character '<', which is situated on the same key as the '`' on the english keyboards, is to be used instead. Thus Cmnd + < is the short cut for switching windows for me. This short cut works in all Apple programs and in most Cocoa programs. It also works in Camino. But it does not work in THunderbird, Firefox or Mozilla App Suite. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable and select one of the mentioned keyboards. 2. Open two or more windows 3. Try to use the short cut Command + < Actual Results: Nothing happens. Expected Results: One should have switched between the windows this way.

The more the moz apps conform to the Mac standards, the better. I can't make window switching work with an English keyboard and cmd-` either, and it is a bit irritating. I love all my Firefox windows and want to get to them :-)

this bug is still in Firefox 1.5 and Thunderbird 1.5 and is highly annoying. Does anyone know where the CMD-` is mapped for the english keyboard layout? I would like to find a way to fix this but cannot find a starting point.
This WORKSFORME in Firefox 1.5.0.6 en-US osx-ppc (universal) and always has in 1.5.x for me (it's not listed in the menu, but the key shortcut works). However, I came looking for this bug because it's busted in 2.0a1. In my book that makes it a regression from 1.5.x...

Can we get a clear story on when (if ever) this worked, if it's a regression, and if it's working now? If we shipped 1.0 and 1.5 with this, it won't block the 2.0 release at this point, although obviously it's a fix we'd like to take.

(If there was a regression between 1.5 and 2.0, it sounds like it should be filed as a separate bug.)
OK, my regression is definitely a separate bug, with some further investigation it appears to be a conflict between Firebug and BonEcho. Uninstalling the Firebug extension fixes it. Firebug does not cause this problem on 1.5. I'll file a separate bug.

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1b1) Gecko/20060809 BonEcho/2.0b1 I can't seem to reproduce this, but judging from people's comments, this is not a regression from 1.5 so it shouldn't block Firefox 2.
