User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 I'm trying to set up TB 1.0 to connect to an Active Directory server for LDAP access. My settings aren't right yet, so I'm failing to connect to the server. The sheet that comes down telling me of this failure is as follows: ***** Error Code 91: Can't connect to the LDAP server Verify the Hostname and Port Number are correct and then try again, or else contact your System Administrator. To verify that the Hostname and Port Number are correct, from the Edit menu, choose Preferences, then choose Mail & Newsgroups, and then choose Addressing. Click Edit Directories, and select the LDAP server being used. Click Edit to display the Hostname. Click Advanced to display the Port Number. ***** This is wrong because it points to preference panes in Seamonkey Mail that don't exist in TB. It also says to use Edit > Prefs, which in OS X is Application > Prefs. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. fail to connect to an LDAP server 2. see error message 3.
Attached image Error Code 91
Error message text also incorrect for Windows. TB preferences are under Tools > ... not Edit > ... see attached screen shot Note also - other error messages listed in URL need correction. FWIW authoring bug of the message text is https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79935#c46

Hanspeter, Wayne, does this still occur in the latest 2.0.0.x or trunk nightlies?
I can't verify one way or another. I no longer have access to that Active Directory in comment #0, and if I try to add a fake LDAP directory in TB 2.0.0.12, I don't get any sort of error. There's a short hang which I presume is TB trying to find the server, but then it just continues w/ out providing any feedback about not being able to connect.

I never seen these messages since at least in tb 2.0 and higher.
