my computer is a 450mhz p2/128mb ram/windows 98. i have M13 of mozilla. when i
go to a page that has java, such as <a href="http://chat.yahoo.com/">yahoo
chat</a> or a counter such as the one on <a
href="http://starwars.countingdown.com/">the star wars countingdown webpage</a>,
the java applet does not load, rather, a test messege on the page says simply
"applet" i checked to make certain that both java and javascript were
enabled...they were...so i am reporting this.

Java Plug-In doesn't currently work with current Mozilla builds (M13 and later)
because of API changes in Mozilla that broke compatibility with JDK 1.3. We
are working on fixing this, and expect to have a patch for the JDK 1.3 Java
Plug-In. We hope to bundle this patched plug-in with the Mozilla Beta1 release.
There appear to be several bugs in Bugzilla that are the same bug, but with
different, related causes. I will leave this bug as a stand-alone bug (i.e.,
won't mark as duplicate) for now. When Java Plug-In works again, I will re-
visit this bug and see if it works. If so, I'll close it out; if not, I'll ask
the reporter for more info about the bug.

With the newly-patched Java Plug-In from Sun that will be released with Beta 1,
and with current Mozilla builds, the starwars counter applet now works, and Java
applets on www.yahoo.com that I could find, work.

Marking this bug as FIXED; paw, perhaps you can verify the starwars one? I
believe this bug is yet another instance of "Java doesn't work with current
Mozilla builds".
