It would be great if you could perhaps right-click a folder to "turn off" mail notification, so that messages filtered into that folder would not generate a new mail notification message. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Subscribe to a busy mailing list 2. set up a filter to shuffle everythign from that list into a sub folder 3. watch the new mail notification pop up every few minutes, and be horribly disappointed that it's not a long lost friend e-mailing you to go out for beers next week, just someone on the Anarchist's mailing list whining about the government. Actual Results: I became sad. Expected Results: not gotten my hopes up by telling me I have new mail.

Right-click on an IMAP folder, select Properties. There is an option: [] Check this folder for new messages If you turn this off, you won't get notifications for the folder. If this solves your problem, please mark this bug: Resolved | Invalid Note: The folders *will* bold/update the unread count if: you leave IDLE mode on (Account Settings | Server Settings | Advanced | IMAP) *and* there is activity on the folder at least once every half-hour -- this could be a manual check of the folder, or (I think) mail arriving in the folder. But if you're expecting loads of messages in the folder, then you should just presume there's new mail in the folder and not rely on the bolding.
