Expected Results: emails should be downloaded and then either treated as Spam or allow me to manually delete the culprit eMails

Is this a POP or IMAP mail account? Those headers you supplied are very incomplete; can you provide an entire message source for one of the failing the messages? If so, please save the source as a file and attach it to the bug, rather than pasting it into a comment.

do you have a virus checker installed? Some virus checkers have been known to intercept message like this at the protocol level and hang our pop3 download code by corrupting the download stream.

Bug 228649 is an example of problem David mentioned. Bug 228649 : Unable to download mail from pop3 server caused by junk email Get protocol log and attach log file to this bug(don't paste long data). See http://www.mozilla.org/quality/mailnews/mail-troubleshoot.html#pop for protocol log. Don't forget to change "protocol:5" to "POP3:5" when POP3. Please note that log file is overlayed on restart.

The email program is frozen. When I try to "Get Mail", a screen displays saying "Processing Folder" I had to shut the programs down, and "Log Off Administrator" to get email program to work.

Have the 3 logs been helpful in looking at the bug? Or, do you need more logs, or maybe different research data?

Joe, from what I can tell from those logs, no data is coming back from the pop3 server for those messages, which is a symptom of a virus checker scanning the port and just eating the data before the client can see it.

David, The virus checker I am using is Norton Anti-Virus 2004 v10.0.1.13 Are you thinking that Norton is causing this problem?
