User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 StumbleUpon/1.999 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 StumbleUpon/1.999 On any page in which vertical scrolling is possible (i.e., any page with a vertical scrollbar), the scroll function of the Synaptics Touchpad on my Satellite 5105-S701 is non-functioning. The scrolling works in every other program in the windows environment, including internet explorer, all office programs, notepad, and file explorer windows. An icon appears beneath the mouse pointer, which appears to be a miniaturized scrollbar with up and down buttons and a small slider over which the mouse pointer is centered. This icon appears in internet explorer as well, the difference being that, in internet explorer, the scrolling commences as I move my fingertip up and down the right side of the touchpad. In firefox, no scrolling or mouse motion occurs once this icon appears. This problem did not occur until I updated my synaptics touchpad driver from v7.5.7.0 to v7.12.7.0. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad driver (and hardware, from devmgmt.msc), and changing any number of options regarding scrolling in the synaptics driver panel and the firefox options (auto-scrolling, smooth scrolling). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open firefox 2. Browse to webpage with vertical scrollbar (or resize window to force scrollbar to appear) 3. Attempt to use virtual scroll function of touchpad (slide fingertip up and down on right-most surface of touchpad) Actual Results: Above-described icon appears, no scrolling occurs. Expected Results: Scrolled the webpage vertically. A similar problem occurs with the horizontal scrolling feature of the touchpad, the only difference being that the above-described icon never appears, and the mouse acts as if there was no horizontal scrollbar on the page (mouse pointer continues to move normally, as opposed to freezing in place as occurs when vertical scrolling attempted)
