found using 200502020x-trunk ffox builds on linux fc2 and windows xpsp2.

the popup notification bar (above page content) and the popup statusbar icon no
longer appear when I visit a site which issues popup windows.

0. make sure you haven't recently visited a site which issues popups: clear out
cache, cookies if needed. or, start with a new profile.

1. visit http://www.cnn.com --or http://www.popuptest.com and click on the 1st
"multi popup test" link.

results: the popups are blocked (default action), but I don't see the
notification bar or statusbar icon.

seeking regression window...
scratch my comment about linux --so far I've only seen this on windows. (too
many themes and profiles on my linux box today.)
OS: All → Windows XP
hrm, this might actually be invalid. it looks like this "bug" is occurring when
I use ffox 1.0 (and definitely worked then!).

so perhaps this might be something specific to this Windows machine I'm using...
(although I thought I had turned off other apps which might be doing blocking
for me *shrug*)
resolving as Invalid for now.

I've been fiddling with the Norton security apps on this machine, but have yet
to get the Firefox UI to "come back."

Summary: popup notification bar and statusbar icons no longer appear → popup notification bar and statusbar icons no longer appear (blocked by 3rd party security apps?)
It's not invalid. I came here to report this problem on Windows 2000 using
20050218 trunk.

Resolution: INVALID → ---
Visit http://www.opsc.dgs.ca.gov/default.htm and click on the "On-line
Eligibility App." link on the left menu. That should issue a popup. FF blocks it
by default and displays no icon in the statusbar, and displays no other visual
indication that a popup has been blocked.
Re-closing. The reason it was reopened, comment 5, is bug 202226.
