User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10

It varies but sometimes images do not appear in my browser. The login gif aat
http://ulogin.bcentral.com/en-US/centralsignin.aspx?cobrand=600204 does not
appear for e.g., yet if I mouse-hold and View Image I can see the image in a
separate window. I have javascript on but JAVA off.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to http://ulogin.bcentral.com/en-US/centralsignin.aspx?cobrand=600204
2. The Sign In graphic before "with .NET passport" does not appear
3. Mouse-hold where the graphic is supposed to be and View Image and it appears
in a separate window

Expected Results:
The image should appear on the page
http://ulogin.bcentral.com/en-US/centralsignin.aspx?cobrand=600204

I have the same result when I look at a yahoo photo album and other pages. Most
of the time I can see all images, so I am not sure why this happens on only some
pages.

I notice that the image is a class <img class="uihf_HimgTitleIcon" align="left"
height="22" width="21" src="/images/shell/icon_signin.gif" alt="">  ...that may
have something to do with it??

btw. I am trying to submit this as MacIntosh OSX and it will not go. I am going
to change it to something else to see if that works.

A legal OS/Version was not set.
if the build ID of the lizard with the problem really is Gecko/20040913 ,
two months before Firefox release, then this report is unlikely to result
in any improvement in Firefox.

Is the problem known to occur in a recent build?
Do you still have this problem with a recent build?
I cannot reproduce.
and is the pref on...? Firefox->Prefs->Web Features->Load images (its sub-one
should be off)?
That is it Asof.
I was just trying to look at a webcam in downtown Halifax at
http://www.cs.dal.ca/cam/univave1.shtml and could not see the image.

Went into Preferences >> and unchecked "From originating site web site only" and
it works. So, it appears that the default is to only allow the loading of images
from the originating site. Why not change the default then as this seems
limiting for most users? Is there a security risk of allowing images to load
from other sites or just a perceive ethical issue?

I agree with your assessment of the default setting, but I don't think that
it is either of the things you mention, but an attempt to limit the ability
of a website to plaster a page with adverts.
Seems like a wee bit of overkill if it is just trying to limit ads. Does the
Windows version use the same default?
I didn't even realize it was default. I don't remember ever changing that
preference and it's not that long ago that I started with a new profile.

So is it even default?
Geez, you know you are right. Maybe I clicked it way back when and just forgot.
Let's end this thread. I don't want to waste time on my stupidity! :)
