for now I suggest removing the icons from the results list in sidebar in order to 
save space and avoid visual clutter. Instead can be have simple headers when 
using multiple search engines that delineate the results from different search 
engines.

I prefer icons, myself. cc'ing robert as he no doubt has thoughts on this.

NO, do NOT do this.

Icons are used for branding and become especially important when aggregating 
results from multiple engines, as they aid in quick determining which results 
came from which engine.

Marking this bug WONTFIX.

Note: we don't separate engine results, we intermix them.  No "headers" per 
search engine.
