Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050203 Firefox/1.0+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050203 Firefox/1.0+

On all pages, in all tested Roman encodings, the HTML "heart" dingbat fails to
appear properly, and is instead displayed as a bolded pipe on my screen. Safari
displays the heart properly, but both Firefox (nightly build as of 18:00 on 3
Feb 2005) and Mozilla (most recent release) fail to display the heart properly.

On my system running Ubuntu Linux and the most recent releases of both Firefox
and Mozilla, the heart displays properly, and I have heard tell of other OS X
users who have no problem viewing the heart on their system under Firefox.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter HTML for a heart onto a webpage (ampersand heart semicolon)
2. Upload webpage
3. Go to webpage

Actual Results:
Heart still displayed as bolded pipe.

Expected Results:
Displayed heart dingbat.
Operating system is Mac OS X ver. 10.3.7.
Version: unspecified → 1.0 Branch
Summary: the icon of a heart (html: ampersand hearts semicolon) fails to appear, and instead is displayed as a pipe → &heart; entity fails to appear, and instead is displayed as a pipe
