User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 The page I referenced above requires account login to access, so I copied the source and included the source in an attached text file. 1. The windows popup perfectly using IE or MOZILLA, believe it or not! But NOT FIREFOX!!!!!! 2. All browsers work the same whether or not POPUP BLOCKING is disabled. IOW, disabling popup blocking does no good in FIREFOX & enabling popup blocking doesn't bother Mozilla ( 3. The only hotspots that work at this site are ones that do not open a new window. If a hotspot opens a new window, FIREFOX will not open it when clicked. 4. The cursor does change to a hand over these hotspots. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. The public www.brownco.com site does not show this problem. Popup windows are apparently used only once you have logged on to your account. 2. Examine the HTML code for the page I provided and the link address of the popup window. Basically EVERY POPUP WINDOW on Brownco's customer-only site is inoperative under 3. Actual Results: When you click on the TRADE column in the attached web page, nothing happens, except a faint dotted window around the characters >>. Disabling popups does no good, nothing happens. Expected Results: A window is supposed to pop up to allow you to trade a stock. This behaviour correctly occurs using Mozilla or IE, but not using Firefox. The following is the URL of a button that refuses to open a popup window like it should: javascript:window.name='mainw';winOpenTrade('/brownco/trade_stocks/trade_stocks_popup.jsp?brnTradeInstrumentType_requestscope=Stock&pageid=10&framework.html.RequestingPageName=brownco/quotes/stock_quotes_detail.jsp','&BRN_TRADE_STOCKS_QUOTE_SYMBOL_requestscope=','SUNW','Trade',660,360); The "page source" obtained by right-click in the middle of the page, will be attached in a "Create a new attachment link" to this bug report

Please examine the page code at the end of this attachment and determine why it works in IE and in Mozilla but does NOT work in Firefox. I cannot use Firefox to access a major online brokerage (HTTP://WWW.BROWNCO.COM) because popup windows will not pop up.

Any messages in Tools > JavaScript Console? Could you try it on a build from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ ?
I encounter this problem, too, everytime I open popups in any website. Especially Haloscan comment popups which I use very often. It would never open popups whether or not the popup blocker is running, even if I restart Firefox and/or reload the page. Btw, I am using Firefox 1.0.3 on Windows XP SP2. I have not encountered this problem when using earlier versions of Fx (1.0.2 or lower) before 1.0.3 was released.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
