Is this against mozilla suite, and not Thunderbird?
Any error message in your hotsync log?

marked "private" (bug 197787)?
Q3. Any error message in your hotsync log?
Q4. Have you tried custom sync option "palm overwrites PC"?
Q5. can you duplicate this on a very recent, new, version of Thunderbird or
suite? (please cite the build string from help>about)

please supply build string

Do you mean existing entries, updated on the palm or PC, don't get the updated
information synced?
that error code is GEN_ERR_NOT_SUPPORTED, which I believe means there was an
error initializing a palm component -
http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/mailnews/extensions/palmsync/conduit/MozABPCManager.cpp#61

AFAIK, if there's a limit, it would be in the palm code, not the extension code.
ANSWER: build string: Version Tb 1.0.6 (20050716)
1. was your bug report on Feb 4 the results of your FIRST install of
palmsync and first sync using TB
ANSWER:YES (I tried mozilla suite before, then uninstall all :-(((, and install
older versions of Tb than the actual one)
2. Have you been syncing between Feb 4 (when you first reported the
problem) and my first contact with you sept 9?
ANSWER:I stopped in the moment I reported and tried it with the build Version
1.0.6 (20050716)once more
3. I wonder why it would now fail after working partly the first time?
ANSWER::-(
see point 2 - with the new version I hope it works...
4. what other applications are you syncing to, i.e. what other conduits
are installed? (from the list on hotsync > custom)
conduits installed:
notice block (synchronize...)
Staroffice (handheld overwrites....)
all other conduits are unabled (palm desktop/ Installation....)

Two questions:
- do you have any non-ascii characters in your address book (bug 237624)?
- where did you get palmsync.xpi?

I suggest starting from scratch with the instructions at http://kb.mozillazine.org/PalmSync_%28Thunderbird%29 - probably first uninstall thunderbird. If you have a problem with the procedure or a new problem you may get faster help by posting in a forum linked on that webpage. Then please report back with your results.

Will that work?

do all palm entries have a caetgory assigned to them? in AB on the palm change "All" to "unfiled" - does it list any entries?
Wolfgang, we are stuck until you respond.

Do you have a category of "unfiled" in palm addressbook?

Do this in addressbook no the palm:
1. set category to all
2. click "NEW" to create a new card
3. what category name is shown in the top right?

We can make faster progress if I test your address book on my system. Please sync your palm data to palm desktop:
1. backup your existing palm desktop addressbook if you don't want to lose it
2. change the contacts conduit in hotsync back to the *palm desktop*
3. change contacts conduit to palm overwrites desktop
4. sync
5. export the palm desktop contacts to a file with file > export > range=all
6. zip the resulting file
7. mail file to me at vseerror at lehigh.edi

Also, what model palm are you using?

ANSWER:
There is no category shown; when the top right is clicked I find "nicht abgelegt", that means "no category defined". All existing entries are categorisized to "all".

Does "unfiled" translate to "nicht abgelegt"?

If it does not then is most or all of your problem. palmsync does not currently sync entries that are not assigned to a category - bug 321424. Assign a category to all these entries and let is know the results.

English palms ship with a category of "unfiled". The unfiled category syncs - palmsync will create a thunderbird address book named "unfiled" and sync the entries.
