Details
When opening a new window in Firefox the app appears to attempt to prevent the window from being covered by the dock (once a window is touching it, all new windows open at the same vertical position, and only move across horizontally). However, it appears to be calculating where the bottom of the window is based on the bottom edge of the content area, and not taking into account the status bar. The result is that the window content is never covered by the dock, but the status bar always is. I find myself having to move windows up a quarter inch constantly so I can see where links are going to before I click them, or check the security status of a site.
