Whenever I switch to another useer in XP and back the middle mouse button scroll
dtops working. Wheel scroll still works, but clicking it which should bring up
the scroll icon (moving the mouse scrolls the page) does not work anymore. It
still works in all other applications, though.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start firefox
2. switch user (start -> log off... -> switch user)
3. switch back
4. try the middle mouse button in firefox by clicking it
5. try it in another program

Actual Results:
the middle mouse button does not work anymore, only wheel scroll

Expected Results:
provide a scroll icon to scroll the page in the direction where the mouse is.

I am using Logitech mouse software.
Works for me

Reproduction steps

1. Start -> Log off -> Switch user
2. Selected other account
3. Logged off
4. Selected my account again
5. Pressed the middle button -> Scroll icon pops up

Tested with Win XP SP1 and a Logitech mouse with it's official driver

Maybe the reporter has a problem with her mouse software?

*Ouch*, I cannot reproduce the problem anymore in the way I described.
I thought the user switching was the cause for the bug, which wasn't.

It seems to have something to do with the Logitech mouse software, but affects
Firefox only; it has occurred on multiple windows XP installations.

When I find out why the middle mouse button function stops (also middleclicking
on tabs, also after restarting the browser, happens in firefox only) I'll submit
a new bugreport (if it's firefox related). Sorry for this false report.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a

you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
