Mostly newsgroup spam is provided via google groups so it would be useful to
have to ability to create news filters like "Message-ID contains posting.google.com"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a news server
2. Open the filter dialog
3. Create a new filter

Actual Results:  
The list of possible criterias only contains "Subject", "Sender" and "Date"

Expected Results:  
The list of possible criterias should contain the criteria "Message-ID" or she
should be extendable like the one for email messge filters
Can this be done using the "Customize" option?
No, customized headers are not part of News filtering.
