User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 I use a touch screen on one of my computers, and have changed the scrollbar size in windows (XP) so that is is more easily used; this scrollbar change in size is then reflected in all programs except the mozilla suite. I have learned after trying different approaches to fix it that this problem seems to exist using every mozilla theme I have tried, EXCEPT the mozilla 'Classic' theme -- this theme does display the scrollbar as the size set in windows. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Change the scrollbar size in windows xp (right-click on desktop, select Properties | Appearence | Advanced | Item: Scrollbar, then increase the size and click OK / Apply). 2. Open or restart Mozilla and compare to any other program (IE, etc). Actual Results: All scrollbars will be larger except those in the Mozilla suite, unless you have the 'Classic' mozilla theme applied -- this theme seems to handle changes to the windows scrollbar size appropriatly. Expected Results: Scrollbar size should have changed to reflect changes to the windows theme Windows XP Mozilla 1.7.5 Every theme tried except the 'Classic' theme has this problem.
The last time I checked, Firefox was honoring (and Mozilla was NOT honoring) custom scrollbar size as set by the user in Appearence | Advanced | Item: Scrollbar.
Summary: Scroll Bar size: Scroll bars don't resize to match Windows defaults with any theme except the mozilla 'classic' therme → Scroll Bar size: Scroll bars don't resize to match Windows defaults with any theme except the mozilla 'classic' therme
Themes are allowed to set scrollbar sizes either explicitly or to "os default" (the latter by using moz-appearance). In the latter case, the scrollbars will also have the OS-default look, of course. Sounds like everything is working as expected -- themes that set the size explicitly get that size, and themes that say to use the OS default get the OS default.
