Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 1.0 (20041206)
I use Thunderbird as my primary RSS reader, but I'm noticing that as I add new
feeds some of the older ones are dropping off the list of subscriptions and are
no longer being updated. I count 14 subscriptions on the list I can manage, but
I have set up 27 subscriptions and some I can no longer modify, some don't seem
to be getting updated at all
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have fourteen or more RSS subscriptions
2. Add a new subscription
Actual Results:
The new subscription shows up, but the oldest subscription disappears from the
RSS Subscription Manager.
Expected Results:
The newest subscription should have been added without removing an older
subscription from the manager.

A month and a half later and it seems I'm the only one having this problem? I'll
live with it. It sure seems like a major pain to identify a bug that only
affects one person. I guess I just have too many RSS feeds.

even if nobody else has commented, I wouldn't just live with it. try to
reproduce the bug with a recent nightly of thunderbird and with a new profile.
if the problem still exists, whe can go into further investigation.
if the problem doesn't exist anymore, you should mark the bug as WORKSFORME

The problem for me right now is that I have too many RSS feeds that I'd have to
track down addresses for. Some I have stored in Fx, but I've added several feeds
that I didn't note in Fx. There's a time issue for me, and creating the new
profile and trying to get the feeds into the new profile will require more time
than I have. Back in late January when I first mentioned it on the MozillaZine
forums I had time to try to run it down, but the extra time has been filled.
Just out of curiosity, is there a limit on how many RSS feeds can be managed in Tb?

31 feeds and it WFM as well. Jeanne, if you're still feeling it's because you've
got too many feeds then you could use a recent build plus a new profile and
fairly quickly add a few dozens from this page:

It's too bad I've got so much work to do on my blog or I'd build a new profile.
If I do that will I be able to bring in the messages in my current profile? This
has become more of an annoyance than a problem for me, and I may be wrong but
dealing with a new profile at this point seems like a ton of work to do just to
resolve this issue. I'm running v. 1.0.2 (20050317), so a current build
shouldn't be an issue. I really don't have time to deal with a new profile at
this point.

Yes you will be able to move the messages to your new profile but it may take a
little long if you have many mail accounts. Briefly, you have to move the old
profile, then create accounts in the new profile as they were in the old one
(don't check for new messages now), then replace the new <profile>\mail folder
with the old one (the idea's you import messages not account, afaik). Here are
some rather good how-to's: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Main_Page#Mozilla_Thunderbird
I've had this happen to me too with around 30 feeds. I don't (yet) have steps to
reproduce, though.

After monitoring this for a few weeks, I'm starting to think this is actually a
side effect of Bug 267082 rather than a separate bug.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".
This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
