Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install through "Custom" installation, default directory for installation 2. Pick one of the following configuration among quick launch (QL), start menu(SM), desktop icon(DI) options: a. pick only one option (no matter which one); b. pick QL and DI; c. pick DI and SM 3. complete install 4. check Windows Installed Application list (in Control Panel) Actual Results: Instead of the desktop icon you get the installer icon beside the SunBird entry in the Application list

I can confirm this behaviour with Sunbird 0.2's installer. However, I guess we'll leave this alone until there are a new installer available, right?

Reporter: Can you replicate this issue with the new, NSIS-based Windows installer?
Comment 7•18 years ago
|
||
I don't know exactly it it uses the NSIS installer but I tried installing it with "sunbird-0.3a2.en-US.win32.installer.exe" and I still don't have the Sunbird icon in the Windows Installed Application list.

Sunbird 0.3a2 used the old XPInstall installer. If you could try to replicate the issue using a nightly build, or the 0.3 release candidate (RC), it would be very helpful.

I downloaded and installed the 0.3 release candidate 1 from the FTP site and it worked fine, i.e. the Sunbird icon is correctly displayed in the Windows Installed Applications list.

I guess this should be invalid since we're using a new installer now. -> INVALID
