Thunderbird 1.0 WinXP

1 open the newsgroup subscription interface
2 type alt.fr.platines.de.salon.divx.h&b
3 click on the check box to select it

expected result : check box is selected
actual result : nothing happens
I can reproduce this bug with Mozilla 1.8a6 and other newsgroups with an & in
their name.
