User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050206

This may be similar, but does not sound the same, as bug 126633. When Mozilla
is started it sometimes takes a long time to come up (1+ minute). Apparently
during this time it converts the address books to backups, changing the name
from abookxx.mab to abookxx.mab.bak. Thereafter Mozilla can no longer see the
address books and shows no entries (except for the "Collected Addresses" which
remain.

The address books can be restored by removing the .bak on each file, but this s
a pain. It seems to happen if Mozilla has been run, closed down, and then
restarted within a few minutes.

This has been happening in the last few versions of Mozilla, I think since 1.83.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run Mozilla
2. Close Mozilla down
3. Restart Mozilla, probably after a limited number of minutes

Actual Results:
No address books show, but they are still there as .bak

Expected Results:
The address books should still be available whe you click on address book.

This is a major problem, although it does not happen every time Mozilla is
started. I am experiencing it once or twice a day, despite upgrading to the
nightly releases often. I think is first showed up in version 1.83.

Is the AB file write-protected or do have insufficient file permissions for it?

Does the AB file contains some binary garbage if you view it with an text editor?

This problem has not happened to me in the nightly builds since early April.
Perhaps it is fixed? It use to be a daily occurrance, so something must have
changed for it not to show up in several weeks. I am using the same computer
and operating system, no changes there.

Reporter, please could you confirm if this has happened to you again (as it has
been another month or so - should be enough time for it to have appeared again),

No response, and both my Thunderbird and SeaMonkey Windows XP builds are fine here.
