User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 I know of other people having this problem. And I have had it a while but I can not seem to find any mention of the exact bug. When I have more then a few tabs loaded I get about a 6 second hang at the end of any page load. I can not click any links or any thing. I just have to sit there and look at it while it does something.. not sure what. I only have like 2 extensions loaded. Is there a fix to this mentioned some where that I missed? Can I do some troubleshooting for you? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load lots of tabs (I have 37 loaded but you do not need that many) 2. 3. Actual Results: 6 Second hang at the end of the page load. Can not click any thing, can do nothing but wait. Expected Results: Allow me to scroll through the loading page, click on a link.. :) I am on a P3-866 with 1024mg of Memory.

What extensions do you have installed (names, please :)?

I have a similar problem except this is before the actual page load. I'm using Firefox 1.0.3 under Win2000 SP4 but this bug is present for a couple of months. I don't have a lot of open tabs (max 5). Some extensions are installed. I recreated my profile some days ago but the bug is still present.

This is probably related to DNS/name resolution.

(In reply to comment #4) > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 240759 *** This bug is not a DNS problem and has nothing to do with the case it was pointed it. It also is still unresolved. I am forced to use IE and Opera as a result.

Master Merlin and Michel Poleur, comment 6 (and the now very old comment 1) asks reasonable, easy questions - the bug can progress only when you respond. The bug is a year old - so at this point you need to test and report based on the newer FF 1.5 or better yet a trunk build from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1 As far as I remember, I hadn't seen this behaviour for a long time (since I switched to 1.5.0.1 ?). I will file a comment if this bug arises in the future. By the way, I think this bug is related to bug 248345.

(In reply to comment #9) > this bug is windows, bug 248345 is linux According to comments, it's rather non-OS specific. See bug 248345, comment 10 See bug 248345, comment 12 See bug 248345, comment 15

I forgot to say, I wouldn't rule out their being the same problem - but there are dissilimarities. As for your good suggestions > See bug 248345, comment 10 strattbo doesn't state what causitive action preceeds the problem (comment 0? comment 9?) and what's this about a so-called, well known "beach ball of death"? > See bug 248345, comment 12 high cpu and highly reproducible - doesn't fully match bug. > See bug 248345, comment 15 touche Updates from these people in bug 248345 will help better define this.

For reference: All three cited bugs have now converged into bug 223476.
