Mail natification has regressed. I no longer get notified with a sound when a
new email arrives. As well the green email nitification arrow displays in the
wrong place. The green arrow does not display in the Mail Icon in the bottom
left section of the browser window. Strangely a new arrow has begun to appear in
the left hand column of the mail/news window on the Evelope icon next to the
email address.

Email does not beep, as it did previously, when I open up Mail/Newsgroups when
new email is on the server.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open the browser suite and check for new email. If there is new eamil messages
on your email server you Mozilla will fail to notify the user.

Emails still download correctly. Mozilla simply fails to notify the user that
there are emails to be downloaded on the server.
Actual Results:  
Mozilla failed to notify that there were new emails on the email server.

Expected Results:  
Mozilla should notify the user when new email is present on the email server.

I went in to all my preferences to confirm that Mozilla was configured to Notify
when new emails arrive. I even set preferences to not notify me , quit the
browser and relaunched Mozilla. I then reset the preference back to nitify me
when there is mail, quit the browser and relaunched. This did not restore mail
notification.

BTW I am running Mac OS 10.3.7 on a B/W G3.

Mozilla 1.7.5 still notifies when mail arrives correctly. 1.8a6 is the first
version I have encountered that fails to notify for mail. I know that 1.8a3
notified correctly.
