When I was customising a report to tell me about every bug that I had ever
submitted, upon submit the text of the URL bar was scrambled.

The attached screenshot shows the scrambling.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to the query customisation page at bugzilla.mozilla.org
2. Select every option from every multiple select
3. Submit the form

Actual Results:  
As per the screenshot, the text of the URL bar was scrambled beyond reading

Expected Results:  
The url should have been in the URL bar as plain text

When I triple clicked in the URL bar, copied it and pasted it into the "URL"
field of the bug report, it was pasted in in scrambled form also.

In fact, the value for the URL in the form above on this page is also scrambled...

I can confirm this on Gentoo Linux with both 1.0 non-installer and the nightly
trunk from 2005-05-07.

My url is 41942 characters long and has been created by validating "local css"
of gmail using de Web Developer extension.

screenshot looks almost same as the one from Nigel McNie.

It doesn't scramble for me (2005052807), but I do get the URL Too Long error
message.

Might be linux-only
not fixed for firefox 1.0.5

I thought it was fixed, but right now i still see it in FF 1.5.0.4 (mozilla.org build) on Linux

I attempted to recreate this bug and could not however in testing I discovered another bug with the location bar.  When entering a lot of text in the location bar the contents of the bar disappear.  This can be accomplished as well by entering a lot of data in a form that submitted with the GET method.  I discovered this problem with another textbox in another bug.  Bug #:300656 .  Look at comment #3.  This instance requires about 2900 capital W's.

Choosing all the options on the bugzilla form causes bugzilla to hang ^_^.

What do you mean. I would like to have some more information on this bug, with the most recent versions of Firefox, and the current Bugzilla.

I mean, choosing all options from all selects means bugzilla doesn't even get as far as showing me the page with the really long url - it just hangs at the "please wait while we retrieve your bugs" page.

Given that it's been nearly four _years_ since I reported this, and that I have moved on to using another browser, my carefactor isn't high enough to try more things.
