Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20050111
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a6) Gecko/20050111

When I try to add add columns in the folder pane (i.e., unread messages, message
count), this freezes mozilla and X11. I have not bothered to walk to another
machine to check wether it also consumes 100% CPU while at it, but it might just
be so. X hotkeys (Ctrl+Alt+Del) still do work, so I can restart X.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on the dropdown menu in the folder pane header to add some columns.
2. Select one to add by clicking on it.
3. Watch everything except for your mouse pointer (which is still moveable) freeze.

Actual Results:
Mozilla freezes X

Expected Results:
Additional Columns should be displayed.
This sounds like a duplicate of bug 261959 or maybe bug 276756.

Reporter did the mouse change to a dnd pointer and have you tried pressing
escape (to cancel it)?

Please also try the workaround of using the keys to select the menu item as
noted in bug 261959.
