User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041111 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041111 Firefox/1.0 I am running Fedora Core 3 with the GNOME desktop environment. When I changed the cursor in GNOME, every application uses the new cursor except for Firefox and Thunderbird. I have heard of this occuring with the Mozilla Suite as well, with many different cursor themes. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Unpack the cursor theme to ~/.icons 2. Create the directory ~/.icons/default if it does not exist 3. Create the file ~/.icons/default.theme if it does not exist. 4. Open ~/.icons/default.theme in a text editor. 5. If there is a line that reads Inherits=<some-theme>, change that to the icon theme you want to install. If there is no such line, add it. Actual Results: All applications use the new cursors except Firefox and Thunderbird (which use the default Bluecurve cursors. Expected Results: Use the newly-installed cursor theme.

please test on a current trunk build, as there are a lot of GTK theme issues fixed in the Gecko 1.8 cycle.

I can't figure out how to install the trunk build. It would be really nice if you people created RPM versions (at least for the releases). I am currently using Thunderbird 0.9 since that is the latest one in the Fedora Core 3 Updates database.

I've observed the same in SUSE Linux 10.0 but there it was a X server problem. Maybe it's the same for you. Does it still happen?

They got more updated packages and their packager is better than redhat's at getting and installing newer versions of the software.

Just tested the bug in "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a9pre) Gecko/2007102904 Minefield/3.0a9pre", all cursors except for progress-cursor are changed
