Mozilla (and Thunderbird) seem to make the assumption that whenever there's a
certificate on mail, it will have gotten stored when first fetched. If there's
a problem however, so that the certs are not in the cert store, there's no way
to re-save them and it doesn't do it automatically when you restart.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Receive a signed message
2. Go to the certificate manager/other people's and delete their certificate

Actual Results:
There's now no way to get their certificate back without having them send you
another email.

Expected Results:
There should be a "save certificate" option when viewing the security info.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

This is WFM - as soon as I redisplay the signed message, the cert is added to the cert storage. Also, I can export certs from the cert manager into files.
Resolution: EXPIRED → WORKSFORME
You can export them if they got loaded in the first place...

But I haven't used seamonkey in years, nor do I use freebsd as a desktop any more, and I haven't noticed the problem in tbird, and given no one else seems to have seen it, I'll chock it up to some corruption in that instance.
