User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 From yesterday, after I restarted FireFox1.0, I got a debug(??) window just below the status bar, and it seems that no way to turn it off. I tried to un-install/re-install Firefox, but the annoying window is always there. The window shows the following line: <menuitem id="context-flashAllow" label="&flashAllow.label;"----^ here's a screenshot for that area: http://img234.exs.cx/img234/5851/screenshot0241vk.png Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: just start firefox it shows up. Actual Results: it does. Expected Results: User should be allowed to turn this window off. I think this is a debug window for developers? I have no ideas what the line means. I searched about:config, registry, .ini files but did not find anywhere you can turn it off.
remove the flashblock extension.
(In reply to comment #1) > remove the flashblock extension. From my Tools-->Extensions, I don't see "flashblock" is in the list. I do have adblock though.
if you had the extension at some point, and uninstalled (or it was disabled by an upgrade) then that would be the cause. This element is not part of the core firefox code, so its not a bug in Firefox. Best guess is a bad uninstall of an extension, perhaps you should reinstall/uninstall flashblock, or check with the extension author for support.

I tried to install and uninstall flashblock and this debug window does go away. But I think Firefox should offer user an option to turn this window off, at least in about:config.
