User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050120 Firefox/1.0+ StumbleUpon/1.999

The quicktime plugin does not show the following audio mime types in firefox:
audio/x-mpegurl MP3 playlist (m3u, m3url)
audio/mpegurl MP3 playlist (m3u, m3url)

and as such, reports a missing plugin.
Safari correctly finds and uses the quicktime plugin for embedded m3u files
without any problem, which is why i suspect this is a Firefox problem and not a
quicktime problem.
Firefox on the PC seems to load several quicktime 6.1 plugins which include m3u
playlists, which works as expected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. type about:plugins
2. search for m3u
3. open Quicktime, ensure all plugin options are enabled.
4. type about:plugins
5. search for m3u

Actual Results:
plugin not found.

Expected Results:
Firefox should allow embedded m3u playlists to open the quicktime plugin.
This requires adding the audio/x-mpegurl .m3u mime type to the Browsers Plugin
list under Quicktime.

I'm using a Mac Mini with OS X 10.3.7
Quicktime 6.5.2

As this is a new machine, it has never seen any earlier version of quicktime.
not a pfs issue. Probably a Quicktime issue.

I have verified that an embedded Quicktime will open an m3u playlist in the
Camino browser. 0.8.2 (2004120113)
about:plugins gives me a blank page in Camino, so i was unable to show the
settings that it uses.
The same results are found for Mozilla 1.7.5
about:plugins reveals under Quicktime 6.2
audio/x-mpegurl MP3 playlist file m3u,m3url Yes
audio/mpegurl MP3 playlist file m3u,m3url Yes

Even Internet Explorer for Mac opens the Quicktime Plugin for m3u files just fine.
in the Helper files - m3u and m3url are both associated with Quicktime as expected.

If this problem is with Quicktime, then why does it work as expected on all
browser but Firefox?
