I imported calendar events to Sunbird from Outlook using .CSV format just fine.
Then while trying to import tasks (1360 of them I believe) in the same way, my
pc hung and when trying to reopen Sunbird, the program locks for about 15
seconds and then the error pops up. I must clear it multiple times and have yet
to get into the program as the error keeps coming back. I've removed the
program from my system using the Windows 'add/remove programs' in Control Panel
and reinstalled it three times or so but the error keeps happening every time.
The last install I did was tonights (2-10-2005 ~2am CST) build gotten from the
ftp site filename="sunbird-win32.zip"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Double click on Sunbird icon.
2. Wait.
3. Error pops up.

Actual Results:
Program locks, mouse still moves, but calendar events (which had been imported
just fine) don't load and error box pops up everytime. Unable to clear error.

Expected Results:
Open normally and have either shown me the imported tasks or zero tasks
imported. It would have been nice to see a message saying what happened. ??

I'm not a pro at this stuff and if I've made any mistakes re: reporting this I
apologize. I am just fed up with Microsoft and am trying to move away from
them. I've installed and used Suse linux, since abandoned, actually not used in
a long time as it still sits in a pc I built specifically for Suse.
Anyway, I really want to use the Sunbird product but have run into this snag. I
was wanting to import contacts after the tasks. This error occurs every time at
the same place even after application removal, shut down, power up and
reinstall. ???? Tom's e-mail: tomackie@kc.rr.com
Error reads: "A script on this page is causing mozilla to run slowly. If it
continues to run, your computer may be come unresponsive. Do you want to abort
the script? Yes, No ?
Tom,
I've seen something similar in Calendar when importing large numbers of
events. Once you have cleared the errors and can access Sunbird, try deleting
the large calendar from your Calendar list and then restarting Sunbird. In my
case this was able to remove the errors, at least. As far as what to do about
the large number of events, that's bug 198142 and is still being worked on,
unfortunately.
Tom,
Since you didn't respond, I'm going to go ahead and mark this as a duplicate
of bug 198142, which also deals with large .ics files. If you think this
problem can be traced to something else, you can re-open the bug.
