User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050208 Firefox/1.0+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050208 Firefox/1.0+

When I have one instance of Firefox open and I use the keyboard to navigate my
bookmarks (Alt+B, then arrow keys), after a few seconds and before I have
selected a bookmark, my bookmarks list collapses and I have to start over again.
After I hit Alt+B again, the list stays open - the problem only occurs the
first time I open AND NAVIGATE (just opening the list doesn't cause the collapse
- I must navigate with the arrow keys too) the bookmarks list with Alt+B.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Close all instances of Firefox, then open up a new one (it seems that I have
to open up another application between closing down Firefox and opening up a new
instance).
2. Hit Alt+B (open Bookmarks) and navigate your bookmarks with the arrow keys
(do not use the mouse), but do not select a bookmark.
3. Wait a few seconds, and the bookmarks list collapses.

Actual Results:
The bookmarks list collapses, and I have to hit Alt+B again to open up my
bookmarks list. The second time I open up my bookmarks with Alt+B the bookmarks
list stays open until I select a bookmark.

Expected Results:
The bookmarks list should remain open until I select a bookmark.

I need to open up another application (IE, for instance) between closing all
instances of Firefox and opening up another instance of Firefox to recreate this
problem.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

The latest beta releases can be obtained from:

Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/releases/1.5beta1.html

I have just installed version 1.5 Beta 1, and this problem seems to have been
resolved.
Thank you!
