User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Dear Sir or Madam, A few days ago, I suddenly started getting this error message when I try to open any .swf : The file “sbemail1.swf” is of type application/octet-stream (Shockwave Flash), and Mozilla does not know how to handle this file type. This file is located at: http//www.homestarrunner.com/ I searched your site for answers, tried reinstalling Mozilla, tried reinstalling shockwave. Nothing works anymore. Why did all the .swf's suddenly stop working? The website is fine. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail1.swf 2.Go to http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail20.swf 3.Go to http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail23.swf or any other. Actual Results: The file “sbemail1.swf” is of type application/octet-stream (Shockwave Flash), and Mozilla does not know how to handle this file type. This file is located at: http//www.homestarrunner.com/ Expected Results: open the .swf and play it.

Are you sure your server is working correctly? The SWFs will probably work if sent with the usual mime type.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050211 I´m seeing the same on http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail1.swf I got asked what to do, then canceled, opened about:plugins to see if flash is seen. Flash was installed: File name: C:\Programme\Opera\Program\Plugins\NPSWF32.dll Shockwave Flash 7.0 r19 I also know that it was found, as I used the nightly before. In Bug 281509 comment 2 I´ve seen a flash loading in a frame, but I couldn´t load it directly from the URL, download was offered ( URLs in that comment) Bug 277921 Clicking a plugin file link downloads it instead of loading inline. Bug 273785 plugins not scanned/detected on startup (empty plug-ins dialog in downloads, open-with dialog for PDFs) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 277921 ***
