RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 262683

People

(Reporter: greggnjodie, Assigned: bugs)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
Build Identifier:

Download Manager locked up on downloading a file, and now I cant delete the 0
byte file. I uninstalled Firefox, but when I try to delete the file I still
get the message that the file is being used by another person or program.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download Manager locked on DLing 3DMark2005 (a large file)
2. Remove command in DM didn't remove the file just the listing
3. File can not be removed manually, from safe-mode, or when logged in as
Admin.

Actual Results:
Receive message that another person or program is using file. Only one
profile exists on this station.

Expected Results:
Prevent registration of downloaded file to something other than download
manager.

I don't know, but I was surprised that uninstalling Firefox didn't sever the
tie to the partial file.
Do you have lsof on your system?
I guess the file is an executable. Looks like Bug 262683.

Reporter, could you please explain if it is the same problem like in Bug 262683
or does it simply works now for you or what is your resolution?
No reply ... Reporter did downloading an exe (the setup), so duping as mentioned.
