Some people might like this, but we'd also have to include Cookies as well, and then you end up with a case where unless the lists are exactly the same, you end up with one list of 100 sites with four attributes, instead of 4 lists of 25 with a single attribute, for example. Its just a bit of information overload, IMO, an not really that beneficial. (You're probably not going to block images from the site you allow popups or installs from, for example).

Though I agree that it won't be useful to have a long mostly empty list, I don't think that cookies fit in here because cookies are set automatically or by a simple user confirmation. So you have to treat cookies on another place anyway. Also keep in mind that FF still lacks a zone modell which IMO is an absolute most sooner or later. And at least then you're dealing with several right per domain. Reconsider your position and then kill this proposal finally ;-)

I forgot one point. The mozilla.org/ms.com example was no joke. It's likely that a user wants to do exactly this: Allowing/disallowing features from a page in one go.

If/when we implement a real zone model, we may do something like this, but this as it stands just doesn't present a user advanatage, as I said. Cookies also has an Exceptions model, so it would be confusing to leave it out of the equation. There will be per-site settings UI at some point so that you can configure these settings for the current site from a single UI, but that's different.

(In reply to comment #2) > I don't > think that cookies fit in here because cookies are set automatically or by a > simple user confirmation. Cookies are set just as automaticly as images are loaded or popups are opened. No difference there. The only difference is that the user doesn't see the cookies, but he does see the popup. But that won't justify a seperate manager imo.
