User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pl-PL; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pl-PL; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0 My config: Firefox 1.0 for Linux Mozilla 1.7.5 for Linux (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pl-PL; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217) Konqueror 3.2.3 Macromedia Shockwave Flash 7.0 r25 plugin In all three browsers the same problem exists, and the same looks. So maybe this is flash7 bug? Enter: http://www.asus.com/index.htm When mouse cursor moves to "Products" menu a list of available products appears. This list of products should be in front of flash animation. In mozilla suite or firefox and konqueror the animation is in front and menu is hidden behind it. Only lower part is visible because menu is longer than height of animation. The rest of menus is not visible because they are shorter than height of flash animation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run konqueror, mozilla or firefox. 2. Enter http://www.asus.com/index.htm in address bar and hit Enter key. 3. Move your mouse cursor over "Products" drop down menu Actual Results: If you have flash7 plugin correctly installed, the animation will be in front of screen and menu content will be behind (only thwe lower part is visible if you moved mouse over "products" menu). The rest of menus are not visible because they are shorter than height of animation. Expected Results: The menu content should be in front of animation, not behint it.

I have some additional info: My config #2: WindosXP SP2 Internet Explorer 6 SP1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pl-PL; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217 Macromedia Shockwave Flash 7.0 r14 plugin Mozilla 1.7.5 for windows has the same problem as Linux browsers. Only Internet Explorer correctly displays "products" menu in front of animation which runs in background.

I can't see here something hidden... You can't compare IE (Active X Plugin) and all other browsers (NPAPI Plugin). It's either a flash bug or a bug in the page.

Matti, you don't have flash plugin instaled. That is why menu is visible. If flash plugin is installed there is animation above blue horizontal line.

Matti, you can see this bug ONLY if you have flash plugin installed.... If you install flash plugin you will se animation above blue horizontal line. When 'products' menu is opened it shows its content under animation.

Zbiggy:
I wouldn't "triage" bug reports with a flash problem if I hadn't no flash installed.
Shockwave Flash
File name: D:\moz_source\gmake\mozilla\win32_sym\dist\bin\plugins\NPSWF32.dll
Shockwave Flash 7.0 r19

I can see the flash and can confirm the menu appears behind the flash because of a lack of wmode on the embed tag. Zbiggy, please ask them to code wmode="transparent" on their embed tag since they already code the wmode parameter for the object tag that IE sees.

Is there a "core" version of this bug? When I voted for it, I saw it landed under "tech evangelism". This is a bug, so I don't see how evangelizing will help. I've periodically come across this bug on http://www.startribune.com/ when a flash ad or other object appears just below the top menu bar. That's a JavaScript/DOM menu. I came across this today with Firefox 3 at http://www.gm.com/ with simple <select><option>..</option></select> menus. This seems to be a Linux-specific thing these days.

Bah, the GM one is actually a JS/DOM menu too. Somehow got confused on that one...

The linux only issue is different and not this bug, you need flash10 and the latest firefox to get wmode=windowless working the oage is fixed
