User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 I can retrieve email fine. I can read it fine. I can move to any other folder and straight back to my inbox fine. If, however, I click out of my inbox into another folder and spend anymore than 3 mins (i've timed it, but not to the second) reading email and then try to click back on inbox again, thunderbird hangs. Previously, unread emails in my inbox would grow in number when i was in another folder and TB would hang if i clicked on my inbox. But i've since marked all emails as read, but the problem still occurs. I've tried compacting the folder. I've tried deleting the inbox.msf file. All to no avail. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start in inbox 2. click into another folder 3. let it sit for 3 mins 4. click back into inbox - TB hangs Actual Results: TB would not respond so I had to kill the application. Expected Results: It should have allowed me to view and read any message in my inbox
pop3 or Imap or local folders ? Thunderbird Version ?
(In reply to comment #1) > pop3 or Imap or local folders ? Thunderbird Version ? Sorry. I'm using POP3, with individual accounts (not local folders) and TB version 1.0 Andrew.
I notice a similar behaviour quite often. TB hangs not always, sometimes it continues to work after 10 minutes of inactivity, somtime it hangs again, I even don't have to change the folder. TB version 1.6.0.0e (20050317), Win XP, SP2 1 IMAP + 1 POP account Extensions: Quote Color, Mouse Gestures Google Desktop Search installed.

This did not happen to me anymore, since I completely re-installed TB and deinstalled the google desktop indexing of Thunderbird mails. Well, more concrete: I have the strong feeling that there is a positive correlation ...
