1. I have a folder "/users" on which a networked drive is mounted using Samba.
Works fine for all other applications such as openoffice, and many others.
Permissions are rwx for everyone.

2. If I try to download a file to /users by clicking on a link, navigating to
/users and clicking "save as", the pop up window simply disappears and no
download takes place! Before clicking "Save", you can right click and create new
folders in /users with no problems.

3. Performing the step defined in 2 above to a local folder [eg /home] works
perfectly.

4. Performing the download using right click "Save link as", then navigating to
/users etc works fine!!!

5. IN other words, this bug happens ONLY on a networked folder and ONLY when you
directly click the link for the download.

6. Clue? I have tried this on a whole variety of file types and it is totally
reproducible. However, when [for instance] I click on a *.iso file, the type
field in the subsequent window only mentions files of "type *.iso". If I do the
same thing using right click [which will subsequently work], there are several
file types mentioned, of which one is .iso.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. See details above. Simple to setup with a networked drive mounted on a local
mount point. Mine is "/users"

Actual Results:
The pop up boxes simply disappear, download manager does not start and no file
is downloaded

Expected Results:
The download manager should start, download the file and show progress.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
